While painting is Teresa’s main medium, she likes working with gourds because there are so many things to do with them. They are functional as well as beautiful. Most of her designs are wood burned, then, color added with acrylics, shoe creams & polishes, and colored pencils. The shoe polishes allow the gourd texture to show itself and remain as close to nature a possible. Often Teresa uses nature to create patterns, sometimes Native American designs, but her overactive imagination finds potential gourd designs everywhere. She also paints colored bottles to use as dispensers. If you buy one of her creations, she hopes you enjoy it as much as she did working with it.
