Drew, potter
While I was hand building this clay leaf tray, my daughter April
was splashing in the creek with her dog Suzie.
Here in our enchanted forest, work and play are
intertwined.
I've
been a potter for more than 30 years, and there is an ebb and
flow to the work. Currently my clay work involves both hand
building and wheel thrown pieces. Along with my cups and bowls,
teapots, and plates made at the potter wheel, you will find
small hand built animals. My
"morning trays" are small trays that I draw on first
thing in the morning when I am still in a dream state and most
connected to our collective unconscious ... And, thanks in part to Mountain Mamas, I am doing
the now famous leaf bowls, bowls woven from the clay impressions
of the surrounding floral and fauna of the area. |
